Where to mount microphone??
#1
I’m using a Rush tank mini and a Rush Microphone.
I don’t know where to mount microphone but the vtx has a place to solder microphone directly to pads but then microphone would be between frame and vtx.
I was going to use M2 bolts and nuts for spacers to lift bottom of vtx off of frame which will allow space for microphone, but is there a better location for microphone?
Do I need any foam over speaker to clean up noise?

I'm big on mics as well and when I used this VTX or the TBS Race MMCX, I mounted it prety much as you did.

I also found that putting a small piece of fabric athletic tape over the mic helps a bit with the wind noise as well.

I have 2 of those RushFPV MIC's and I love them for the VTX's I have without any built in microphone.

They are super light (like under 0.5 grams) and you can either solder them in place or stick them on the vtx using double sided tape.

I do not cover mine with foam anymore but its a good idea to reduce wind noise. Not every kind of foam will work. I had previously repurposed some foam from an old Plantronics headset.

Sounds good.
I like raising vtx off the frame if possible but most of my vtx are stuck on using 3M mounting tape for they don’t have holes.
I’ll try raising it off the frame for better cooling.
Maybe soon there will be telemetry data for vtx output/temperature/etc….

I do something at Betaflight's Github page where VTX telemetry was requested such as VTX temperature but I do not think it got too far.

I do know that on the IRC Tramp menu in the OSD menu we can get VTX temperature (whether this is accurate is another question) but no idea why this is not available via the normal OSD:

TBS SmartAudio does not offer temperature stats in the OSD menu.

One other thing that would be beneficial is VTX signal strength etc.

But overall Betaflight seems to be slowing down in terms of development and not many contributors submitting actual PR's. So unless someone submits a PR with these enhancements I will not expect much from the main developers. For them there is enough VTX control related functionality they need in there to get the quads in the air.

I can understand why they don’t with FPV equipment for if signal effects what we see in goggles is our telemetry in a sense and if it gets bad  we turn around or get some altitude but to know if your FPV system is working on all cylinders would be nice and perhaps could be tuned for better performance.
