I'm looking to change things up and get some no motors just for fun. Curious what everyone's running. But my rcx motors work fine as well and are 4 times cheaper Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 Try the RCX RS2206 v3 (or V2) if you don't mind waiting for the long shipiping, these are probably the best value motors out there for their performance Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 (16-Jul-2017, 02:10 PM)Oscar Wrote: Try the RCX RS2206 v3 (or V2) if you don't mind waiting for the long shipiping, these are probably the best value motors out there for their performance "shipiping" yes they really are. I bought mine at myrcmart and they arrived in switzerland after 5 days with cheapest shipping option. Without warranty/support option they are i think 8$ a piece, can't get much cheaper than that... I recently changed bearings as the old ones was starting to sound a bit rough • Posts: 1,773 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 1,199 in 755 posts Likes Given: 714 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 45 17-Jul-2017, 02:40 AM (This post was last modified: 17-Jul-2017, 02:41 AM by RENOV8R.) I'm using the RMRC Blue Series motors. Lots of torque and quite smooth. But I see that a lot of top pilots are using the Armattan Oomph motors. Using Emax red bottoms on my Tweaker5 and I have a set of Armattan Oomph motors on the way (I couldn't resist...I tried)for the build I am currently working on. "Damn the torpedoes!!! Full speed ahead!!!" The ones on my current favorite quad (Spaceone 220x frame) are the 2403 2300kV. These are super cheap ($23 for a set of 4) and work great: https://www.banggood.com/4X-Racerstar-Ra...72092.html (I've also got some "unbuilt" Brother Hobby Toronado 1407s that I'm looking forward to.) Posts: 203 Threads: 39 Likes Received: 42 in 32 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Jul 2016 Reputation: 2 I ended up getting 13 lightly used T-Motor F40s (2205, 2300kv) for $10 each. Have them on 3 different quads and they've been great for nearly 7 months now. Use them for racing and for freestyle. They were a significant upgrade from my previous "GoolRC" 2204 2300kv motors. I know there are much more powerful motors out there these days, but honestly these things just treat me so well I'm sticking with them for as long as I can. • Posts: 20 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 5 in 4 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jul 2017 Reputation: 0 Hyperlite V4, basically the brother R4 returner. So far no complaints, I was a but skeptical of the skirtless motors but they've held up to this noobs torture so far. • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 I am the cliché here I guess I really like my Emax RS2205S 2300kv. My OG 2204 2300kv Cobras are still flying RCX V3 2205 2400kv - best value for performance as Oscar stated ($9). 2206 would be the option for heavier props Tornado T2 2600kv - my motor of choice right now. Great mix of power, reliability and they run extremely cool. Only 5S on Cyclone 5046 made them hot to the touch. A lot of top performing motors on the market are made by brotherhobby right now or are based on their Returner line stators/bells. First version of Racerstar RS2205 was made from butter. Those are the only motors that I managed to damage physically in a short time - dented bell etc. IMO - it's really worth spending a few bucks more on different motors. • |
