It seems the meta has shifted back to dual-props?! What gives, guys? No one likes tri-blades anymore?
What is the difference between dual props and tri props |
06-Apr-2016, 11:47 PM It seems the meta has shifted back to dual-props?! What gives, guys? No one likes tri-blades anymore? 06-Apr-2016, 11:48 PM I find triblades (and quad blades, especially quad blades) make my quad feel punchier as well as handle better. The 5x4x4 on my 250 quad handles like it is on rails. Crazy difference. Just so easy to break lol 06-Apr-2016, 11:48 PM A lot of fads and fancies in this hobby, it's still relatively new, people are trying out things, discovering some work, some not so. A while back tilted motors were the in thing to have, now its Tri props, X-frames seems to be the next must have its a fun time to be in the hobby. Fly with what you want dude . Don't be a sheep 06-Apr-2016, 11:59 PM I use dual, triples and for a short while the quad props. There are sure differences between props on different quads. My example, My QAV 210 Runs 5045HQ BN props and has heaps of grunt, great for all types of flying, mind you those props really push the 20 amp esc's under sustained throttle. DAL 5045 triples Race edition props, almost as much grunt as the 5045BN HQ's but much much nicer to fly with when doing a lot of acro.and do not hammer the esc's as hard. The HQ quad props, hmmmm, can't say I am overly impressed by them at all. I think people focus too much on what others are doing and using , remember, like me people are only commenting on their machines and how they fly. What is right for me one day may be rubbish the next day, Lots of things I factor in when I fly.. Wind, temperature, my state of mind, one day I can fly great with 5045BN and next day I cannot get into the groove, so I change props thinking maybe that is it, sometimes that works, but maybe it is just my mind tricking me that XYZ prop is so much better. Best advice I can give, get a couple of sets of different types of props and see what works best for you. 07-Apr-2016, 07:54 PM I go for what is both good...and most importantly cheap! I'm not gonna shell out 4-6 bucks every time I crash. That's why I use Kingkong props. Most a crash will cost me is a buck. But with these Ibcan crash multiple times without breaking. I have some GF tri's, and they snap if I hit a twig. Now I plan on getting into some fpv racing this season, so I havensome experimenting to do and won't mind running a more expensive prop if it works better, but for every day flying I'd make some out of popsicle sticks if I could. |
