What is Anti-Gravity in Betaflight?
#1
I noticed a new feature in Betaflight called "Anti-Gravity" just wondering what that does?

In simple terms, I think it increases "I" when you punch the throttle so it punches straighter.

When you set the gain greater than 1 and leave the other settings default, BF will multiply your I terms by gain when the throttle passes some high level for some amount of time like 350ms or whatever the value is. So when you do a full throttle punch out the I terms increase so the quad keeps it's position and doesn't dip or roll.

So with the right tune, you don't need anti gravity? When I do a full throttle punch, its never dipped or anything, and to be honest Mines far from perfect tune. Or am I missing something here?

This is true. But too much I causes the copter to feel stiff. Antigravity allows you to have lower I for your normal flight and it automatically multiplies I on punchouts. With antigravity the tuning procedure changes where you don't tune I for punchouts just use enough I to maintain position and not allow drift.

This is how I understand it as well. Smile

Here is a video from Joshua Bardwell about it.
