Hi, not going to post any flight video (yet) but instead asking a question.
So I have a 3-inch Acrobrat with Tarsier V2, and recording in 1080p/60fps which gives me a decent raw video quality. But the video file size is just huge - 3 gig for 10 minutes, while an hour of full HD 1080p tv show would be the same size. But this is due to absence of compression, which is impossible to pack into a flight recording device.
So I'm stuck what to do next with this. The raw video file plays great in the default windows player, but when I try to open it in the video processing software (i'm using VSDC) it just doesn't play smooth, probably due to file size or my PC being just slow.
Do I need to convert the raw video(s) into a more usable compressed format, and then process them in VSDC or Davinci or any other software? Do I need to open the raw file in the video processing software anyway, create the video and then compress it?
When converting and processing video, what conversion settings should I use - I mean which codec, container, bitrate, any other critical settings? There's so many of them. Tried to compress using VLC to a smaller bitrate, but the result is just awful. Maybe there is some better compression tool and some generic settings giving a good balance of size and quality?
I want to end up with a general purpose video file, 720p or 1080p, 60 (maybe 30?) fps, to share, watch on TV, PC or youtube.
Thanks!
