Video lines with DTFC
#1
Not sure what is going on here, tried two different receivers and two different vtx with same results.  I'm pretty sure it is a power filtering or power supply issue, but I thought the DTFC's 5v regulator should be able to power everything.  I'm getting 4.7v with just the rx on, and 4.6v with rx, vtx, and camera supplied from the 5v.  Seems quite a bit lower than 5v, is it too low for my vtx or my camera?

apparently too dense to embed a video so here's the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGJ8sKRC...e=youtu.be

FC: DTFC w integrated pdb
RX: Frsky XSR
VTX: TBS Unify Pro@200mW
Camera: Foxeer HS1177
ESC: Aikon SEFM 30a
Motor: Tornado t-1

Things I will do next:
Edit: just found a 1000uF 25v cap, should I put it where the 5v and ground goes to the vtx and camera, or on the vbat pins, or where the battery leads come into the board (before the built in current sensor)?
If that doesn't work, I will try and supply the camera from the vbat tab.  Is this a good idea, camera says 5-22v, but I know most people power the camera from 5v reg.

I put the cap on the vbat port, and it cleaned up some of the noise.

Edit: success! I put a 5v voltage regulator from vbat to vtx/camera and everything is groovy now. I thought the DTFC's bult in 5v reg could power all my fpv gear, but I guess not.

specs for the power supply to the unify vtx are 5v 600mah if you're using the 5g8 model ? I've had nothing but trouble with my unify pro 5g8, tried caps and lcfilter ? makes me think I have a duff unit, glad you got it sorted tho Smile

I think the current draw depends on the power output that the vtx is set to. I currently don't have either a cap nor lc filter on, but my video is super clear. What I ended up doing was making a cool little wiring harness, so I have a plug into the vbat port on the fc, going to pollolu (think 600ma), then 5v going to the camera and vtx. That way I can pull the top plate off of my quad, and only have to remove the rx plug and the wiring harness, and the camera/vtx/rx stay attached to the top plate.

I've had good luck with the unify pro, I have two and one of em has the pigtail soldered directly on, and the other has the little snap on connector. Both seem to work well enough for me, as long as you supply 5v heh
