This  , who finished second in Freestyles at Drone Worlds and is something of a media darling, was taken in connection with the first season of Drone Trippin.  Best to watch with the volume on and up.  Pretty clever.

That 3d stuff is pretty crazy... it's tough to imagine all the things you have to un-learn and relearn to be as good at it as she is. It'll be cool to see if she can get other pilots into it.

It's half that bad if you learn 3D first, FPV second... Aside from a well-working 3d quad (i don't trust betaflight for that matter), biggest issue is the cam angle. Wink

Fair point... makes me wonder a bit... I am still stuck in virtual reality for now with a safe way to transition... however I am not sure about what I am buying being able to do 3d... I might have to research. there is something about loosing half of the resolution of my throttle that makes me nervous though...

Not that I ever tried flying 3D, but that probably means two things:

Normally you go only "up", meaning you have 1000-2000us = 1000 steps on throttle.

For going 3d you have:
1000-1500us = 500 steps to go "down"
1500-2000us = 500 steps to go "up"

So now, going "up" only has half the steps (resolution) of normal flight. But you can't do it any other way so... go and try.

My only issue with 3D was not being able to find good props (by good I mean durable>smooth). But that could have changed, I remember Zoe was talking about working with one of prop manufacturers to make some good blades.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

I've tried 3d in liftoff... if I am up high in the air I can sustain upside down and even a little bit of directional control. to fftunes point I'd need to decide on a different camera angle. Even with as little as 25 degrees (my normal angle) it can be a little disorientating when flying the wrong way.

The resolution itself is not much of an issue imho. But what's worse is, if you can't tell the exact throttle stick center. I kinda cheat it by using spring-loaded throttle stick (means i also use only half of stick, i.e. upper half, for normal non-3d quads), but some radios also are capable of emitting a beep when you hit center.

The risk with 3D quads is, that the motor reversing takes a little time - if you do it by accident, bad things might happen.
The risk with betaflight 3D-mode is, that PID are fully active up to the point where motors reverse - means you have to be very very smooth with the sticks and the quad has to be very "calm" before reversing motors, or you will be in trouble. I talked to Boris countless times about this, yet there's no change in sight. Not sure if KissFC 3D-mode does anything different on this behalf, i'd have to try it someday.

Regarding props: Best prop imho is the graupner 6030-3D, but it's 1) expensive and 2) NOT durable... Sad

Both good reasons not to get into it and to just watch ZoeFPV on youtube instead lol
