Using Tiny Whoop batteries on Eachine E010
#1
I was looking around for better lipo batteries for the Eachine E010, and I found some which were designed for the Tiny whoop - The Eachine 3.7V 200mah 30C

NewBeeDrone also sells a high C rating Tiny Whoop battery.

Incompatible Battery Connectors

However as you might know the connectors are different between Tiny Whoop (Blade Inductrix) and E010, so the batteries are not compatible. Correct me if i am wrong, but i think

Inductrix - 2 pin Pico blade (1.25mm)
E010 - 2 pin JST PH (2mm)

So there are 2 things we can do

  1. replace the battery connector on the E010 PCB
  2. or, make a battery converter - which I preferred (but proven to be contradicting later on)
And here is the converter.

Batteries too long?

Another problem was the batteries being too long, and it blocks the converter on the PCB, so I had to de-solder it and move it to the top... It was a lot of work actually.
The Eachine upgrade batteries wires actually are long enough to reach it. However once you moved the connector, the stock batteries cable won't be long enough to reach the connector anymore, so that makes me wonder why I wouldn't just replace the connector on the PCB to the Inductrix ones, because I can't use stock battery anyway.

Performance Testing

With the stock 150mAh 1S battery, HOVER time was 4:30
With Eachine 200mAh 1S 30C battery, HOVER time was 5:20

Both tests were using 2-blade mod described here: https://oscarliang.com/eachine-e010-mods-1/

Also it's not as punchy as the 150mah because it's heavier. (150mah - 4.9g; 200mah - 6.5g)
Towards the end of the pack it starts to have trouble going up, feels like C rating isn't as high as stated on the package.

To be totally honest, I would buy some more stock batteries, and stick with them. Not only they fly a bit more aggressively, also save you from so much trouble DIY'ing. You can get them here: http://www.banggood.com/5PCS-Eachine-E01...81737.html
Price wise though they are pretty similar.
