Using the buzzer pad as a 5v pit switch?

Just noticed on the NeutronRC AIO instructions, they recommend setting up a COB led strip on the BUZZ- pad and using it as a pit switch. I do believe the BUZZ- pin has a transistor that drains to GND (acting like a N-mosfet switch?), but I wonder what amount of current can safely pass through it? I am guessing a typical buzzer consumes no more than 50ma. A 600mm 5v COB LED maybe 400-500ma.
