Using stm32F411 replace with STM32F303 ?
#1
Hi Guys,
I have Furious race whoop v1.0 fc (stm32 f303)!
I see that legs of  F303 and F411 are the same except for leg B11.
Intended to take the F411 chip to replace it on the F3 circuit and flash  fw of the F411, then resource it to resemble the F3. So can it run?
Thanks
Reed Noel.

Unfortunately it's not that straight forward. Just because two different MCU's have the same (or a similar) pin layout doesn't mean you can just do a direct replacement of one with the other. The F3 MCU has some different function assignments for its pins compared to an F411 MCU. You need to study the datasheets to work out what the differences actually are and understand any impacts. For starters a 48-pin F303 MCU supports 3 UARTs whereas a 48-pin F411 MCU only supports 2 UARTs. There are other functional differences too so it's unlikely that you'll just be able to transplant an F3 MCU with an F411 MCU.
