Unable to connect to ESC in BLheli
#1
Using LittleBee 20A OPTO Pro ESC

ESC wired to the PDB

Signal and ground wire from ESC to FC

When connected the battery, there's 3 beep/tone instead of 5. When connected to BLheli suite, when I clicked check, all ESC are blank.

I tried to click Read Setup, it will prompt me "Connection to ESC#1 Failed!"

Solved!

Turns out that I soldered the ESC signal wires to 5V.

I think I recall that only 3 beeps is an error sequence for incorrect endpoint settings. But I could be wrong.....Have you calibrated them?

Have you tried BLHeli configurator (Chrome app) instead of BLHeli Suite?

Sounds like the ESC is not reacting to the commands from the FC. What ESC pwm protocol are you using? Try oneshot or multishot

How do I calibrate the ESC?

Absolutely no idea, just done with all the wiring and trying to follow video guides on youtube but stuck at the "check" stage.

The error you have reading is when you do not connect your battery when you are trying to read your ESCs.

So you are saying I should or should not plug in battery when reading the ESC?

You have to power the esc with battery. USB is not enough.

What I did is plug in USB, connect to BLheli Suite, plug in battery, hear 3 tone, click "Check", blank result.

Just in case it's possible, you can't have Betaflight "connected" at the same time.

Yup, understand this point. Was able to connect to BLheli Suite but just can't detect the ESC.

Did you select the correct Com port?

There were issues with passthrough on "some" (not all) FCs with Betaflight 3.1.6 and 3.1.7. For F1 boards installing 2.9.1 worked for flashing/configuring. For F3 boards some reported rolling back to 3.1.5. You might give that a try (depending on your FC). You can always go back and upgrade after you are done flashing/configuring your ESCs.

Pretty sure I did, else it won't connect to the software.

Technically, you have not connected. If you did, the screen would turn pink.
