I am assuming some have seen it already, but is anyone on there or planning to be? I joined up, already have a sign in, so you might see me on there occasionally! (user: s3npai)

Yawn.

Ephemeral, chat based platforms for technical stuff just result in the same questions being asked and answered over and over and over again.

It's just like Facebook where anything that isn't on the first page is forgotten except by Facebook themselves. Discord pay for their servers and bandwidth used in offering this free service by collecting as much data as they can about you and selling it.

You are the product!

Almost feel bad for them, all they get from me is sh*tty memes, and a lot of anime content. Can't be worth it, lol.

But I do agree, that was my first notice on entering, was every little bit was the same kind of question. But it could be used for good if they set it up well, maybe.

A discussion forum, if properly organised and maintained is a wonderful reference work because it can be searched and all the content is available. The fact that an answer to a question was made two years ago doesn't necessarily mean that the information has become useless.

ROFL

You can't fix something that wasn't designed to work that way from the start!

I've never had any desire to become famous. The anonymity provided by a forum handle suits me just fine.

I have never found a better way to get information, get questions answered, and just enjoy whatever hobby I've ever been into than through forums. A forum is just easy to manage, easy to navigate, find historical information(biggie), post pictures and generally just see what everyone is up to without being completely overwhelmed with information not relevant to what you are interested in. I never get the feeling I might have missed something with a forum, it will always be there when I have the time to sit down and read it.

Same here. I was all over the Ford Focus(car) forms for so long it's embarrassing now.. lol. I do think the Discord would be nice for immediate issues for new folks. Jump on and get a few quick ideas, then pop off. Just my .02

Trolling and getting sworn at by Grumpy Trev could be good for a laugh, but, considering the amount of subscribers UAVFutures has, I'm sure it's not going to be long before it degenerates into hoards of people clamoring for attention.

Don't worry IntoFPV, my support remains unwavering!
