Tutorial: How to check if motor screws are touching winding
#1
So many beginners have problems with their motors without knowing if motor screws are too long, so I made a quick tutorial how to check with a multimeter.

https://oscarliang.com/check-motor-screw...g-winding/

is there anything I should add or edit?

Great tutorial Oscar, I'll use this procedure. Better safe than sorry. One thing of note, I have the T-Motor Rifle (blue) series motors and they actually have a plastic flap on the inside of the motor base so that even if the screws are slightly too long, they are shielded from making contact with the windings.

I always find it incredible when someone manages to do this in the first place.

Surely it's obvious that you should check the length of the screws BEFORE using them to attach your motors?

I have heard stories of an RTF coming fitted with screws too long... But yeah, why can't ignorant people just know the stuff they don't know!?

If you are going to put a screw through anything, the first thing you do is check that the length of the screw is correct for the job, surely? This is hardly rocket science is it?

Sorry unseen, my comment was meant to include myself, and be conveyed with the grin of the blissfully ignorant! Big Grin
You are absolutely right of course, there are definitely parts of the hobby that ARE more akin to, what I would consider rocket science!
