yup using cura for slicing - it came with package.

in my case ill need to fail few more times to find the right spot Smile
now my 6 year old wants to see "how creaper is created" so maybe he will start learning the modeling software Smile
ill generously lend him the printer and filament yet he needs to design his toys now Smile
All the best

ok, officially im in love Smile

today i received the runcam3 ordered some time ago and kept safe from my and my travels by Konrad Smile
what a coincidence ... i have a 3d printer... so now i need to design... >STOP< someone had to do it already...
thingiverse... ooo there is one MANY, in between i found one done by Painless360 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2223472 as he is guilty of my time being addressed for few years now i thought lets go with this one Smile

lets give it a try (in PLA, nothing flexible yet Smile)... in some time ill try to get all the pieces together for timelapse Smile
estimated time print was 2h actual was 2,5h (for me ok)

what i've improved so far... unlike unseen, im from Poland and i understand simple solutions (and like them: if it doesnt work get a hammer, still doesnt work? get a bigger hammer) the spool was touching the motor that is passing the filament.... one UGH later... it is now bent and filament is moving in on spool ok (as i found out not exactly, ill need to go the other route and remove this motor and ad a distancer that will move this motor up by 1 CM - no biggie just need to do it at some point Whistling )
secondly i've reduced the printing speed to 20 mm/s (ill play with that in a bit, for now i played safe), increased extrusion rate from 100 % to 110%

again i stood and stared ... hypnotized (hope this effect will go away after 5th print)
below you can see what came out...
this time i've printed directly from SD card to check how it works.... it works Smile
pictures taken at night with iphone with flash... but i want to share them now Smile

here you can see the biggest "flaw" of this print one layer had some challanges - i think this was related to the spool got stuck again. (but this time it is one... not 90% of them)
[Image: y4mAwutz39iPUIpff6y9jEZwvzaS4O1M7RawJPdO...pmode=none]
here you can see on the bottom the excess that was somehow generated... and on the right how it handled doing overhangs
[Image: y4myDeDXygwPG-rdKu4n8zXwkGMRko0hzuuSlOqk...pmode=none]
here you can see the opening for the power/shutter button

tomorrow first (lets see if last) flight with the "protector"

All the best

That print looks pretty good!

So the under-extrusion was caused by you completely ignoring what I wrote about the spool binding against the extruder motor when using the provided spool holder then? Smile

not that i ignored it Tongue
i just was sure that "such a small bind shouldn't do any harm"

now i have 2 mods for that:
1 - bent motor a bit - eventually to be replaced by distance at some point ... *
2 - added lego bricks 4x2 as distance to the spool - zero issues now. (second print of same cover came flawless)

2 things noted about PLA... it is good vs sand/dirt/etc... it fails while hitting the tree at speed... video in videos section Smile

i'm still in love with this printer... now i need to find a way to use flexible filaments (i know it is not good with bowden tubes)

* problem has been resolved so this temp solution might last forever ....
All the best

I haven't got around to trying my Semiflex filament yet as I'm still having fun trying to print some very fine parts with PETG. I fear they are just too fine to be honest as some of the parts are just 1mm thick and that's simply too thin for the majority of 3D printers to make anything durable.

im "wasting" PLA now on all ideas that my kid might have fun with... mostly minecraft characters used as testing the printer, ie today i've found that "bottom left" (close to the logo left side) of the bed is having some adhesion issue (one leg didn't stick well) rest of the bed was great, and i did the leveling before this print Smile

so playing with other materials... "as soon as ill finish this spool"

Either the bed isn't as well adjusted as you thought in that corner, or it's not properly flat.

I found it was actually easier to just print a single layer on the bed and see how good the contact was at each corner. I noticed that the front left hand side of mine was quite obviously lower than the rest as the filament wasn't as thin there and didn't stick as well.

All I did was just loosen the screw on the front left side a little and print again. Once I could see that the filament was the same on that corner as it was on the others, I got much better and more consistent adhesion.

Sometimes it's really hard to level the bed with a piece of paper as there can often be some filament still poking out of the nozzle when it is cold and that little bit of cold filament can fool you into thinking that the nozzle is closer to the bed than it really is.

hehe funny you say that ... today i found it by practice Smile
"something" was wrong the pritn was started 4 times and was crappy, first thought ... blocked nozzle... buuut wait i din't play with filament... maybe bed needs adjustment... bingo...

now im starting to think how to use F1 board to create self leveling bed ... it is that funny to do it Big Grin
