I was recently out at the lake with a group of my friends/co-workers. In fact you'll see the guy that I am talking to holding a mavic. I am trying to get him interested in race quads the trees were really tight here and the only open spots were near powerlines (which you'll see me get close to early on in the video... oops )  It was pretty intense trying to fly this location, but by the time I made it through about 4 batteries I was pretty jazzed at being able to do it without breaking any props and only about 4 or 5 crashes lol... 

In this video I continue my tradition of "forget smooth, I am going for difficult"... I know that I am not really following the rules of good freestyle here and I think I might be OK with that in the long run... I'll decide later. 

Special shout out to you personally reader: as you are likely one of the "six or seven" mentioned at the end of the video to my friend. 

What an amazing spot! I don't think I would be confident enough to fly a location like that just yet, but someday soon!

That's great Carl! I hope you keep going back there. It will be fun watching your prox-gress!

As recent as 3 or 4 weeks ago I wouldn't have even attempted it. But between knowing that I've started to get much better at precision and a little bit of show-off pressure because I had friends around I decided to go for it.

My friend has a boat out on the marina where this spot is. He's been inviting me to come out often but I just haven't had the chance to make it out, often because I am busy with flying on the weekends. He said I can come out and fly again there anytime so I'll definitely be out there again. Lots to learn that's for sure!

And "props" on taking on those tight trees Carl, nice job. That's my next adventure, heading to the innards of the park I've been flying recently.

Tbh i think you're flying smoother than i would in such a tight spot, i probably wouldn't even dare to take off lol

It's definitely an exciting flying experience. And if you pull it off it feels amazing to be able to fly it.

I'll definitely do it again... mostly on smooth I just need to be better at not overcorrecting after flips and rolls mostly.

I was able to get in a couple packs tonight in a tight area. It was next to a river and I dang near lost my quad twice! Once landing on the bank, the other I luckily recovered OVER the river!!!   I swear quads are drawn to the nearest "worst case scenario"

I can't wait to see it, your videos are great. 

So far I haven't seemed to find my quad drawn to the worst crash areas as much as lately it feels like there is always something broke or damaged that's keeping me from just going out and flying x.x I guess that comes with having more experience and crashing harder than I used to though :\ admittedly it's almost as discouraging as the learning curve was as a noobie. Luckily I made it through that too though!
