Tramp HV – 5.8GHz Video Transmitter
#1
Just came across this new VTX by ImmersionRC.

Smallest, Lightest in the Business

This is the smallest, lightest, high-power, high-voltage A/V Transmitter in the business, 31 x 20mm, with a slender 17mm waist, weighing only 4 grams!
Even at this size, the traditional ImmersionRC 5V filtered camera power supply is also included. Twin ground cables from the tiny locking connectors ensure that noisy supply currents keep the camera supply clean.

To cap it off, in addition to running directly from a 2s-4s (HV) LiPo, the TrampHV will happily run from a 5V supply already available in the quad.

  •  All 48 standard channels
  •  Built-in thermal protection
  •  Factory power normalization
  •  Glitch-Free frequency changes
  •  Micro-power pit mode
  •  Additional channels for race events (Race Wand only)

It has a 'remote' module (the red PCB that connects to the VTX), which can be controlled by the Referee of a race.
The Referee would be able to stop the VTX from transmitting, even change channels on the VTX.

The Tramp VTX would be power switchable between 25mw and 200mw... another rumour is that its programmable between 1mw and 600mw... needs to confirm

It is listed as programmable on their website.

I hope they make a version with small soldering pads instead of sockets. Or make a version with sockets soldered on a wire like a pigtail. That's a large chunk of PCB that's just used to hold those pesky white things that tend to fail too often anyway.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

Wonder if it's as easy to use as the tbs unify Wink

We used these VTX's at the recent race. It's very ideal for racing since the race director will be the one that sets your power and frequency. They also put you on pit mode to make sure you don't disrupt any racing when you're making tweaks to your quad.

I think if you have the wand (the device used by race directors) you can set different amounts of power output) On user mode you can choose between 25,200,300 with the version I got. We had 8 quads running at the same time with stellar video.

Now that I'm outside the race, I'm having a bit of trouble with it. The power output seems very weak, I'm only getting about 20ft before the video craps out.

Make sure to get it out of pit mode first. Press the button, power on, hold the button for 30 seconds. Then, it works similar to the TBS Unify Pro (although bear in mind that the bands are in a different order).
