Tools for a Build
#1
Hey guys,
New to the hobby, will be building my first quad once all parts arrive but have a quick question. What tools are required for a general build. I believe i recall seeing trox wrenches needed but I can't seem to find a common size used. There are plenty of kits out on the internet but I want to make sure I purchase on that has the desired sizes. Any and all information would be appreciated. I plan to be active on the forums.

Torx is not common, but I wish it was. The freaking Allen screws they are using is Poop . I think it is 2 or 2.5 mm allen/umbraco keys

Thanks, then in that case I probably don't need to purchase any tools. If hex/allen keys are most common I should be fine. For some reason I thought the most common was torx.

Here is all the hex wrench you will need.

If you are build micros, you might need even smaller hex than 1.5mm.

I know you were just referring to torx or hex, but do you have other tools.

example:
soldering iron, wire stripper, tweezers, etc.

here is a good guide

in addition to the oscar blog post and the thread that unseen posted... I recently got a cheapo electric precision screwdriver like this one : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XZ...UTF8&psc=1

I don't know how I lived without it! Back at my first job when I built PCs (in the pentium 2 and socket 7 erra) I practically slept with my electric screw driver but for some reason it didn't occur to me until a couple of weeks ago to get one of these lol.
