Toolbox/Case Recommendations?
#16
Here is my in the field carry case. It is compact and doesn't take too much room. It is still a work in progress:

The first pocket:

- Eachine Rotg02 receiver
- various usb cables
- various antennas
- Sequire SQ001 soldering iron and chisel tip
- Solder
- Hex driver(s)
- wire snips and pliers (combo)
- plastic spudgers
- Heat shrink
- xt60-xt30 / xt30-xt60 adapters
- Hdmi mini adapter
- various angled SMA adapters
- zip ties

The second pocket:

- Summarized printout of German laws regarding drones (for the people who get butt hurt if I fly somewhere where think they have the civic duty to boss me around)
- printout of 5.8 channel spectrum
- Usb cables
- XT60 - barrel jack cable x 2
- multimeter
- tbs crossfire mini - I switch this one out with my FrSky R9 module depending on the drone. Each module is either in this bag or in my controller
- solder stand
- 3d printerd mount / cell phone holder for eachine rotg02
- mini tripod for cell phone holder (not shown)
- wowstick electric screwdriver
- SDcard holder

thats a lot good stuff you carry to the spot, thats nice gear for a flyday. just a charging-suitcase missed(?).

i carry a tiny bag only with a few tools to fly a few packs. as compensation to repair gear i take another quad able to use the same batteries :-)

for longer flights with charging gear; tools, shrink tube, ziptie, tapes, antennas, lenses, propnuts in a small box. as all my buddies carry a ts100 :-) i get solder access this way :-)
replacement parts lika arm or motor

For each quad in my fleet I have been preparing a repair kit. For example, each quad has it's own repair kit with:

- An extra motor
- Extra Props
- Extra VTX/receiver antenna

When I get ready to fly, I grab my quad, it's small additional "reapir kit" and Im ready to go Smile

Personally I don't plan to do any repairs in the field unless it's as simple as swapping a prop. But I do like the idea of bringing and extra quad along with me that uses the same packs as my "primary" quad. That way if something breaks it's as easy as grabbing the other quad.

I'm leaning hard towards getting the gold/black Integy desktop organizer and for the field the smaller Torvol backpack looks really nice. Lowpro looks pretty good too but it seems geared toward the DJI.

Get the following:
portable soldering iron
surgical scissors thingy
esd safe electronics tweezers
wire cutters of all types
heat shrink
electrical tape
silicone wire 28 awg 30 awg 16 awg and more in those ranges
hex screwdriver set
everything screwdriver set
multimeter
pliers
helping hands for soldering
solder sponge
fume extractor
jeweler's loupe
lots of xt60 and xt30 connectors
this may seem like a lot but trust me, every part here is essential. Kind of. Maybe you could do without the loupe and pliers but that would be a real stretch. I would get these tools separately from Home Depot/Amazon and purchase a separate tool bag/box for your gear.
If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!
