TinyGo + Elrs won't bind
#1
Same old project. I've put a 470 ohm pull up resistor in the circuit and it doesn't bind. Would it had been better if I'd used a 1kohm resistor instead? (As per Thomas at Man Unmanned) - Someone must have the electronics knowledge to answer this, I certainly haven't!
I've got my Elrs Rx wired to the TinyGo, lots of lights come on but the Rx has a constant light, so apparently is stuck in bootloader mode and won't bind to a Jumper T-lite

Edit. I've tried everything but I always get the solid blue light.
One of the two boards must be faulty - I expect I nadgered the FC whilst soldering. I tried different resistors and checked everything with my multimeter too. Oh well, it wasn't new!?.

Thanks to everyone one who made suggestions anyway.

I see Geprc have a new AIO FC since Christmas and I'm thinking I might try it. However I'll start a new thread for that episode. I do like the TinyGo - just not its G8 transmitter!

I could be wrong here, but if anything, I’d think you’d want to go with lower resistance, like a 300ohm.

Unless I’m misunderstanding the concept, the point is to increase the voltage level going to the rx pad to compensate for the voltage loss from the built in pull down resistor. So it makes sense to me that if it’s still going into bootloader mode, you’d want to increase that voltage by using a lower value resistor, or, by wiring it to a 5v pad if you previously had it wired to the 3.3v pad.

I still only have a very basic understanding of electronic theory though, so I could be completely wrong.

Did you wire the pull up resistor to the 3.3v pad, or the 5v pad?

Have you checked recently if the receiver will bind if you have it disconnected from the rx pad? Just want to make sure you’re not chasing your tail if the rx is soft bricked.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

Do you have the GEPRC "Taker" board? If so, SBUS shares RX2, so you might try using RX1/TX1 instead. From GEPRC website though, their branded ELRS RX should work directly on UART 2, but I guess yours is a different brand.
Also are you sure your ELRS RX is working, if you connect to a different FC does the led blink and bind with your radio?
If it is working, you might try flashing with RCVR_INVERT_TX option and connect it to your SBUS pad.

I was able to get this working by soldering a 1k ohm resistor between the 3.3v 0ad and the TX pad, not the Rx pad that the elrs documentation refers to. Pretty sure we watched the same video, so you probably have already tried this, but I did get the tinygo into the air, not only with an elrs Rx, but with Walksnail also! Fast and noisy little ripper.
