Getting tired of flying FPV in the air? How about drifting like a street racer in the track? Well... it's more like a hovercraft... check out the Tiny Whoover! Not sure how it's made yet... looks like they take the motors and FC off the Tiny whoop and mount them on some sort of "Sponge" frame? Seems like a lot of fun Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 I've gotta build one of these!! That video was posted today - I suspect build info will come soon..... I did some stop motion in the video. Looks like the two rear motors are tilted forward and the two front are parallel to floor. Sure hope info is posted soon. • Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 28-Jan-2018, 11:01 PM (This post was last modified: 28-Jan-2018, 11:27 PM by sloscotty.) Found the Tiny Whoov on Flite Test: https://www.flitetest.com/articles/tiny-whoov I suspect this is closer to what was in the video. Looks like a more recent, 3D printable version here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2763471 • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I have all the parts laying around. I've got one almost done - should finish it up soon. The foam build goes pretty quickly... • Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 OK, first one done! This is actually a 120% size. I used the guts of a Furibee FB90. Just waiting for batteries to charge! I will build one regular size (using a spare E010) in the next day or two and will do a proper build thread. The foam build is pretty easy. Full speed ahead!!!" • Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 Nah, but it's going to take longer to get it "flying". Takes a special compile of Betaflight. There is a precompiled hex for my board (SPRACINGF3EVO) at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2752007 , but it uses Aux3 for hover control and the Rx that came with the FB90 only has Aux1&2. I'll tackle it in the morning.... Here is a very brief maiden of my "Mini" Whoover. BTW, this did use a special compile of the firmware. BUT, you may not need to do that. I found more information that I will try on my "tiny" build. Done by Friday.... Posts: 1,013 Threads: 11 Likes Received: 452 in 349 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 16 I love how warily your dog is watching it! And then there were two..... The "Tiny Whoov" was built almost exactly to plans using the guts of an E010. Only deviation from plans was due to the different battery size of the E010 (from the inductrix). Good news is no programming or swapping of motors is required! Build thread coming tomorrow...
