Tiny Whoop FC?
#1
Hi! I have recently been researching parts to make a tiny whoop! I was wondering what FC I should get. There's been talk I've heard that some FC can't take certain high kv motors due to oscillations. Any caveats to look out for? I know BG and GB have their micro F3 flight controllers, and they are certainly an option, but I was wondering if spending more $ meant getting something which would fly better. For example, would something like a Beebrain fly better than something from China? Also, have there been any oscillations or known issues with these Chinese clones? Huh  Thanks!
If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!

I used this on my tiny whoop build.

Look for a flight controller that uses the MPU6000 IMU chip. These are less bothered by vibration. The F3 based micro brushed flight controllers you can find on Banggood work just fine as long as there's nothing wrong with the IMU chip.

The other option is to look at flight controllers that will run Silverware. This is firmware created by a guy on RCGroups that will run on boards like the H8 mini flight controller: H8 Mini

There's an excellent Wiki about Silverware and the various boards that it supports here: Silverware Wiki

Many of these boards are designed for brushed motors and include a receiver as part of the board, so all you need is that one board, some motors and a frame and AIO FPV camera. You'd need a radio running DeviationTX to talk to most of them though.
