In the last year or so I have begun to turn using primarily yaw and feel like It allows far greater control and less room for error. I'm curious if there's anyone that feels the same about roll dominant turns.
When in doubt, yaw it out.
Thoughts on Yaw vs Roll dominant turns |
In the last year or so I have begun to turn using primarily yaw and feel like It allows far greater control and less room for error. I'm curious if there's anyone that feels the same about roll dominant turns. When in doubt, yaw it out. 12-Oct-2018, 01:08 AM I generally use a combination of both. However how much of each you use is largely speed dependent. The faster you are going, the less yaw you will use due to the attitude of the quad. IF you have the machine tilted forward at say a 60 degree angle and feed it too much yaw (and it wouldn't take a lot at 60 degrees) bad things can happen. Conversely, if you going fairly slow, you'll use more yaw then roll. It's all about balance, use whatever works best for you! "Damn the torpedoes!!! Full speed ahead!!!" 12-Oct-2018, 09:05 AM Camera tilt also factors in to the equation for me, since I fly freestyle and want pretty turns more than I want fast turns. Also: my quad is fat and slow, so I have to add more roll to stop it ballooning out. |
