Still in shock at the amount of power . I'm using an 1800 too, my AUW is right at 615g and I did a little backyard flying and got 9:30! Is that camera tiltable. Looks like its fixed at 90°. I would try to get some tilt on it or you are gonna be going nowhere fast but up . • Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 711 in 472 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 Thanks. (you too Oscar). I'm using 2204 2300kv cobras. The camera does have some tilt. I knew that given my level of experience if I tilted it to the second position in the frame and had to tilt the quad at that angle to see straight ahead, I would end up doing a nose dive into the ground. I took a piece of lightweight wood (Bass wood) and cut it so that its actually at a bout 10 degrees when it's mounted between the upper and lower plate. Hard to see that in the photo. The camera is actually velcroed to the piece of wood so that as I get better (hopefully) I can increase the angle with different shims. Guess we'll see.......... "Damn the torpedoes!!! No No No No No.....It is a well known fact that Rose Bushes belong to the Ninja Tree family, and like Ninja trees rose bushes are cunning little bastards..."ohhhh look how pretty I am , come on over and smell my petals...and BAM, they deck you like a sack of spuds. Beware anything with leaves, stems, roots, as they are all like bloody Triffids. Out to get ya. • Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 711 in 472 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 Yeah........THATS the ticket....I was duped by a sneaky bush!! At last it was just a prop. : ) "Damn the torpedoes!!! If you only break one you ain't trying. I quickly realized I needed a barrel full of 'em to keep my quad in the air. Check out Kingkong props. You can get 20 for 5 bucks on banggood and I love them. I've only broke a couple of them. Usually you only have to replace them once they get so dinged up you get jello in your fpv cam. If they get damaged at all in a crash they are usually just bent, and u can bend them straight and keep on flying. I've moved to their bullnose props and they seem even more indestructible. Heard similar reports about Dal props but I haven't tried them yet. • Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 711 in 472 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 I've got a whole bunch of em. Also have some bullnose props and a 4s battery...gonna wait until im a little steadier at the helm before I try those. : ) "Damn the torpedoes!!! But, in saying that, I still prefer DAL props as they can take hits of light twigs and stuff with ease and keep on rockin. and the price is pretty much unbeatable. • Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 711 in 472 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 I'll keep that in mind gents when I go to buy more. To me, they kind of act like a shear pin on the old outboard motors before they had clutches. When you hit something if something breaks it's gonna be the weak link and I would much rather replace props then I would arms or motor shafts. "Damn the torpedoes!!! A fine line really, you do not always want to be changing out props, and some days you just cannot get into "the groove" and take off and hit everything within a 100 metre radius and do 8 props in quick succession, and then others days you are Gods gift to quadcopters, everything running great and not a prop busted . I still blame the Triffids and Ninja tree's. • Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 711 in 472 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 Yeah.....if that damn rose bush snags me again....it's going to become very ill and die....at least that's what I'll tell my wife......
