The second ESC in a row is DOA.
#1
For my new build with O3 I bought
Hobbywing XRotor 65A ESC.

After everything was assembled I immediately put my attention that
there were not any beeps from the motors. However ESC gave power to FC.
Checking motors spin in Betaflight gave no result.
Checking ESC in BLHeliSuite32 - no interface was found, so I couldn't reflash it.
I tried to revive (reflash) via arduino nano - no avail.
I had Mamba ESC. Replaced dead Hobbywing XRotor 65A ESC with Mamba - everything is OK.

Recently, I bought a Holybro Kakute H7 V1.3 Stack with  Tekko32 Metal 65A ESC.
Remembering what happened with the last ESC I decided to check ESC immediately.
ESC #2 gave no beeps when connected to a motor and powered.
However, BLHeliSuite32 sees the ESC #2 w/o any problems.
In Betaflight motor check ESC #2 no spins a motor.  ESC #1, #3 and #4 are OK.

What the hell is going on? The second ESC is DOA?
And supposedly one of the best ones - Tekko32.

Is it only my bad luck? Or such a shit happens often.
I always used SpeedyBee and Mamba ESC w/o any troubles at all.
But wanted to use something better and ironically got 2 "better" DOA ESCs

P.S.
I buy all the FPV stuff from AliExpress.

It's not my first build by far.

After the P.S. maybe a clue…I would suggest a well know supplier with a good reputation..
And maybe a esc with a better track record…
All that said… and Bardwell spent $700 on a “Steele” build and smoked the esc as he was taken off…
I wonder if he repaired that or said EFF IT?

Check for a connector pins to make sure there is not a bent pin.

I would double check the “cable” pinout on each board.. just to eliminate it.. for not just a bent or pin pushed in but to confirm that they correspond..
You may consider checking the cable itself.. that #2 motor signal wire may be bad… it’s a long shot.. but I’ve seen weirder..

As always, there has to be logical explanation.

I dont know what the problem is, but I would urge you to isolate problem by carefully checking each component.

22V goes to ESC pads. It has voltage regulators. ESC BB2/MCU needs 3.3V. Gate drivers are typically 5V or 9V.

If short or vreg burned or overloaded sometimes only 2 or 3 out of 4 motors will be excited and make beep. check if vreg output falls and not steady ie 3.3001.

You have to check all SMD on the board for damage. Chipped capacitor. corner of IC broken. Dark suspicious resistor etc. Need USB microscope.

What about new ESC?

Dont just buy and connect random new parts.
Building new quad go SLOW and CAUTIOUS. I have long checklist.. but basically:

First connect FC alone. Ensure gyro works in BF. Connect RX. Bind and make sure sticks work. Check same resistance on each motor wire pair. Check no shorts to + or - to all motor pads on ESC. Connect FC to ESC and power with battery. Connect to BLHeli and check version etc.

OK.. NOW finally solder motors to ESC.
