The ia6B only does iBus (no SBus) but yeah taking out the pins seems to shrink them down a lot.

You can also detach the voltage sensing from the VIN and instead attach to your flight battery to get telemetry back to the transmitter with main battery voltage like the ia6C does. There's a howto on that kicking around RCGroups I think.

yeah i saw that one..it was a TINY soldering thing...a year ago i wasnt that confident..but now that i am....i dont even care about tele...i just want to fly..when i here a beep, i land...if i dont it will fall eventually...im playin, i dont do things like that to my batteries. but i really am a BASIC fpver...
 plug in,acro/gyro set, fly.
i just like the fact that i can use those in other builds and save 12 bucks a quad..i like all my builds RTF/W VTX and CAMERAs..
so 12 times 5= i win...yey i love when i win...!!

desoldering those pins is ok, but still this RX is HUGE...
this is why i now moved to the new one that is the size of half FC and is stackable Big Grin
All the best

I am having trouble setting this receiver up with FSi6x transmitter and eachine wizard x220. this is my first quad. receiver will bind with transmitter wired for Ibus. everytime I change receiver type in betaflite and try to save, it just goes back to ppm. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Did you enable serial RX on the ports tab for the proper UART you are connected to?

Yeah my X6B has been working fine so far and if you are so inclined you can remove all the plastic connectors and solder directly to the board

did you change the cable from IO_2 connector (default ppm) to IO_1 connector (serial)? you can also solder directly to uart3 pads

here is a nice explanation video

Just to add to what RCFlyer85 has said:

In the Ports tab on Betaflight, you will need to tell which UART is being used for SerialRX. I believe that, if this is not set, then you cannot select a serial RX on the receiver page. That could be why it is defaulting back to PPM.

This image shows the switch you need to enable - https://oscarliang.com/ctt/uploads/2015/...rt-tab.jpg

On UART2, you can see that SerialRX is selected. Yours may not be set up on UART2, you will need to determine which one you have connected to. If you look at the board, there should be a silkscreen that says something like "RX2" or "RX3". That will tell you if it is UART2 or UART3.

As well, make sure, on the flight controller, that your signal wire is connected to RX, and not TX. A simple thing, but could be easy to overlook.
