Tempest VS Kombini
#1
I am looking for a PDB integrated FC, I am deciding between the Motolab Tempest FC and the Furious KOMBINI FC.

Anyone have any experience with either? Maybe can Sway me in one direction or another. I have always flown Naze32 I want to try and get away from the older technology.

Those Corner Tabs on the Kombini are likely to snap in crashes, just like KISS FC does.

Loving the simplicity of the tempest on my racer. I did blow out the LC filter output in a crash when a motor grenaded and 2 escs died. Switched to the 5v pin next to it, never had a other problem. Runs 4k/4k great.

The Kombini has a port on it which connects to their new Piggy osd which will then allow you to tune your PIDs through your osd I believe
The tempest is also a bit larger than the regular FC... something to consider if you are running a build with tight spacing (a pod etc) as it may not fit.

Hi all, need some advise here. Am building a 5" X-frame that has a PDB as part of the frame and I have also purchased the kombini fc.

Question: Can I use the frame's PDB instead of kombini's? If this is possible, should I use one of the +5V & GND pads to power the FC up?

Appreciate your advise and many thanks in advance.

You can bypass the Kombini 12V voltage regulator if that works better..., but I would suggest stick with the FC's 5V BEC, because you can power the FC directly from battery, and gives you VBAT feature, ultimately it will give you cleaner wiring.

Thank you, Oscar!
