TBS PowerCube Team Black Sheep
#1
[Image: a5yJoRzl.jpg]

Here we will just go through some of the important features and functionality of the TBS PowerCube.

  • Complete All in one solution for mini quads: including 4 ESC, PDB (Power Distribution board) and FC (Flight controller) all in one stack.
  • Dimension Size: 36mm x 36mm x 30mm
  • 70g in weight (62g with optional kit)
This is really designed for 210-250 size racing quads, but you can still add extra devices like GPS to the top (Flight controller).

FC Features (top plate)

  • Takes TBS Colibri RACE Cleanflight firmware target
  • The FC has a F3 processor, using MPU 6500 (doh!)
  • Supports Oneshot125 as well as normal PWM signal.
  • Features includes: VBAT, LED, Buzzer, GPS/ALT/Mag, IR LED ports
  • has a bootloader switch for easier firmware flashing
  • Power are distributed through the 4 standoffs, so there is no obvious wires
  • Supports Tricopter configuration
ESC Specs are (the 4 plates below FC)
  • SimonK Custom RACE firmware, It is BLHeli compatible if you wish though.
  • Current rating: 20A, 30A with good airflow, 45A burst
  • 2S-6S Voltage Capable
  • Power and Signals go through internal Bus so no visible wiring
  • The way the ESC's are stacked together, automatically indexes their order, so when you take one ESC out for replacement, no extra configuration is required, it will understand what ESC number they are on
PDB spec (second bottom Plate)

current limit: 100A max, 150A burst
Power supply for entire board via internal Bus
has 5V and 12V regulated power for your FPV camera and video transmitter (VTX)
BST Telemetry port for TBS Core Pro OSD

The very bottom plate is an isolation plate to prevent shorting between PDB and carbon fibre frames.

The unit is lightweight, compact, and provides rich features and great performance to mini quadcopters.
It has mechanical crash protection, optimized passive cooling, and protects your motor and ESC from burning out.
This is one of THE most interesting multirotor products we've ever seen, and it's crazy to watch it in action.

I don't have any plans of testing it, it's quite expensive
But i am testing the KISS Combo though so that should keep me occupied for a while Smile

I am currently using it. It's neat little set up. You quite literally plonk into your frame, hook up your motors, receiver and FPV gear to cube and you're good to go. No OSD built in though, you can use the minimOSD or what most of the guys use is the Core Pro.

Shame it doesn't have OSD Sad

Yup, it's a bit of a shame but the rational we were told was that it would have made it too tall if another layer was added to the stack.
But like I said, it supports the popular MinimOSD or the TBS's own Core Pro. So you're still in good shape if you need one.
