With the props OFF, plug in a LiPo, go to the Motors tab, turn on the switch saying you understand the risks, and then see if each of the motor sliders numbered 1-4 spin the corresponding motor.

31-Dec-2020, 01:15 AM With the props OFF, plug in a LiPo, go to the Motors tab, turn on the switch saying you understand the risks, and then see if each of the motor sliders numbered 1-4 spin the corresponding motor. 31-Dec-2020, 01:39 AM Only 2 motors spin, motor #1 and motor #3, the 2 back motors, motor #1 spins the correct way, motor #3 spins clockwise/the wrong way... I’m pretty sure all my wiring is correct but I’ll send you photos later when I can tear it down 31-Dec-2020, 02:01 AM Yes, please post some clear photos of the wiring when you get a chance. We need to see some of those in order to confirm or rule out any potential wiring issues before looking at anything else. We need to see how the FC is wired to the ESCs and how the motors are wired to the ESCs. 31-Dec-2020, 03:53 AM (This post was last modified: 31-Dec-2020, 03:58 AM by Gabe Miller.) I followed the bottom(#3) diagram for soldering the ESC to the FC -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Left Side- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right Side- (trying to not have to tear the whole build down if I can help it) BTW I have all the wires going in order rom left, center, right to the pads Left, center, right, JB said that you could solder the wires anyway miss match and change it later on but I figured I would do it organized right off the bat. 31-Dec-2020, 01:00 PM The motor connections to the ESC look fine but I can't see the ESC-to-FC connections to confirm if there is anything obviously wrong, so I can only trust that you've wired them correctly. The possible issues could be one or more of the following:-
31-Dec-2020, 09:11 PM So I didn’t solder the “current” wire, could that be the problem? 31-Dec-2020, 09:24 PM (31-Dec-2020, 09:11 PM)Gabe Miller Wrote: So I didn’t solder the “current” wire, could that be the problem? It is not clear whether your ESC has the current telemetry through the digital ESC telemetry or the analog telemetry. If you have digital current telemetry, then you just need the telemetry wire. If it only have analog current, then you will also need the current wire. Regardless, it does not hurt to wire the current wire. You have to set Betaflight settings properly for whatever setup you do. 31-Dec-2020, 09:49 PM Sounds good, I’m pretty busy but as soon as have the time I’ll get the “current” wire soldered up, so will I have to combined the two bottom betaflight programming setups that are shown on my las post? 01-Jan-2021, 12:30 PM (31-Dec-2020, 09:49 PM)Gabe Miller Wrote: I’ll get the “current” wire soldered up, so will I have to combined the two bottom betaflight programming setups that are shown on my las post? Yes, just follow the notation I put against the FC wires in post #51. I labelled all the wires from the FC, so just connect them to the pins on the ESC with the same labels. 01-Jan-2021, 09:49 PM (This post was last modified: 01-Jan-2021, 09:51 PM by Gabe Miller.) By any chance so I can get to know fpv more could you let me know what the current wire actually does? And is there any chance you have a Facebook so that we could call possibly? I have a soldering kit on order that will be getting here next week (my grandpa helped me solder the build to start off, I’m ready to start learning the ways) (01-Jan-2021, 09:49 PM)Gabe Miller Wrote: By any chance so I can get to know fpv more could you let me know what the current wire actually does? But I don't have Facebook anyway. As for your current wire question, the current wire from the ESC send a voltage between 0-3.3V to the FC. The FC current pad reads the voltage. With the onboard ADC (analog to digital converter), Betaflight extrapolate the current. The scaling in Betaflight allows you to calibrate the correct current. Because the current is usually off with the default scale. https://oscarliang.com/current-sensor-calibration/ 02-Jan-2021, 07:58 AM Sweet, thank you much for the explanation, I was directing the Facebook question to snowleopard but thanks for letting me know 09-Jan-2021, 04:36 AM Im going to make a new thread... but incase you don't see the new 1 here's my sos vid |
