Tarot 650 capabilities?
#1
I've been considering building a tarot 650 with extended arms for fitting 17" props.

Is anyone familiar with this frame and it's capabilities? I'm curious if this would be sufficient for lifting a sony A6500 or similar dslr and gimbal. Or would a hex be more appropriate for what I'm looking to do?

Thanks

It really depends on the power system you put on it.

I prefer a hex for carrying a DSLR because if you lose a motor it'll still fly.

What's your budget? This will guide the process, but sunnysky has some really nice power systems for drones of this size.

Thanks for the response.

I picked up an old Octo I'd recently updated then decided the homebuilt frame was not suitable for use. It has rctimer 5010 motors and 17" carbon props. I updated all the electronic's, matek board, external barometer, compass, GPS, airspeed sensor, dragonlink, storm32 gimbal, 1.3 vtx for pilot, dji mounted to the gopro for the copilot, full ground station. I'm getting decently setup for this.

I don't really have a budget, whatever it needs I suppose. I'm a bit hesitant to put the sony alpha on a quad but id like a setup that can do it if I someday decide I want to try for lower altitude shots or convert to an under over Octo if I decide to. I doubt I'd initially use it enough with a dslr to make a hex worth the trouble to transport. I have a 2 seater and use a trailer for the Octo but it's way too bouncy without some weight in it. Not a great setup for me.

Tarot 650 is on sale tomorrow, price is right if it suits my purposes.
