Tango II Option's HELP...
#1
If I go into the "Tango II XF Radio Settings Tab, and scroll down to the bottom and select "Gimbal Dst." option ( which says "Freedom Tx" ) - Another screen pops up and I have a drop down menu which gives me 5 items to select from:

*Freedom Tx
*XF Mode 1
*XF Mode 2
*XF Mode 3
*XF Mode 4

Should I select "Mode 2" bc Id rather my throttle be on the left?

or just leave it on Freedom Tx?

- Thx

I have a Tango 2 and never needed to go into those menus. What is it you are trying to do?

So you want to control your VTX with the radio? You set the settings according to how you want it. You are the one who needs to answer if it's right or not. For example how is anyone reading this question supposed to know what channel you run on?

Leave your Tango in Mode 2 (which should be the default), unless you are an old school pilot who got used to a different stick configuration. All new pilots these days tend to fly a Mode 2 setup. It also means if someone lets you have a go with their equipment it will also very likely be Mode 2 which means you'll be able to fly it due to your muscle memory having been "programmed" for Mode 2 Smile

Here is a good resource showing the different mode configurations -> https://www.getfpv.com/learn/fpv-essenti...itter-mode

As for the My VTX settings, thoise are to control the VTX settings of a TBS Unify VTX that is connected directly to a Crossfire receiver (or to directly control the integrated VTX on a TBS Sixty9). You can set those values to anything you like depending on what your requirements are:
  • Pit Mode: This sets the VTX to a low power mode so you don't risk blast other pilots out of the sky when you plug your quad in. It also helps to stop the VTX overheating if it is left powered up on the bench with no airflow. You can't fly with Pit Mode switched on as the power output is too low and you will immediately lose video within a few feet if you try to do that. If you aren't flying with others just leave that switched off and make sure you take off as soon as possible to get some airflow cooling going across the VTX.

  • Band/Channel: Set it to something that gives you the best reception with the least interference in the area you are flying. This will need some testing to identify what those are. Most people tend to use Raceband (R) and then they select a channel with the least amount of interference. If you are flying with others you all need to be on a different channel so you don't get a contaminated feed from someone else's quad. If you are flying alone just choose any channel. Most people fly Raceband channels 6, 7 or 8 which are above WiFi frequency range which may be present in the are you fly. See Oscar's 5.8GHz frequency guide and chart in his article HERE.

  • Power: Do you want to be blasting max power all the time (usually for long range or high penetration)? If yes then set it to the max setting, otherwise set it to something appropriate for the area and range you are flying in. The higher the power the hotter the VTX will also get, so it will need some airflow cooling ASAP after powering up the quad (unless it is in Pit Mode).

Thank You, I apprec hiete that. Im n ot trying to be a pain in the ass, Im just tryinh to understand each aspect as the options are given to me so I can make the best decision as to what I should choose given my enviroment.

I apprechiete your patience with me asking a variety of questions. I guess if I was more  versed and had been down this road before all of this would be 2nd nature, but in this moment its all new to me. And the only source I have to ask anything is here with you guys. So I thank you and I'll try not to be a bother and do some more research before I ask a simple question I could of just looked up. and for that I appoligize. I get it...

Thanks
