Take the risk or not?

Hey guys

I've recently replaced 2 damaged motors that caused a lot of vibration.

Tried it, flew perfectly.

Came outside couple hours later to fly with FPV and see how much of a difference it was.
The moment I connected the battery something in the 4-in-1 ESC's exploded into sparks.
Pretty sure it was the yellow thing https://gyazo.com/7402e7cf75ec2c9f2c34c65555fde40f

Being fed up with random malfunction I connected the battery again and armed the quad. Motors are all running.

How high is the risk if I just go out and fly it? At this point so many things have malfunctioned when the quad was on the bench that I feel like flying it untill it fully dies.

that's a capacitor probably for spike/noise filtering?
I think it would still work, but the only thing that being affected is reliability.
I'd like to hear what others say if there is a different opinion.

Yeah, that bright yellow thing is a tantalum capacitor (SMD type low ESR cap) that is filtering the electrical noise.

Question is - on what line is it mounted on? If it clears up the main batt voltage then you will see more noise on other components - eventually voltage spikes can damage other gear that are also connected to the battery. If you have mounted an additional capacitor you should be safe.

If it was clearing the voltage for the chips on the ESC, then you may (or may not...) encounter some "flips of death" if noise becomes too much of a problem. In this case I would fly in a safe location, away from other people or objects you wouldn't like to get damaged if your quad drops to the ground randomly.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

I guess I'll just replace it with a new 4-in-one ESC I pre-ordered. Might just buy a new frame too. Just seeing this frame reminds me of all the issues I've had with this thing so far. Sad
