Syma x8hg Antenna connection(Stuipid Question)
#1
I am trying to do a antenna mod to extend my range and have run into , what seems to me to be a problem. I unsoldered my antenna connection from the transmitter. Then soldered the new antenna to the board from where I removed the original one. Then I grounded the shield. Just to be sure I didnt have a problem I checked the continuity between the shield and the antenna and got continunity. So---I unsoldered everything and checked the connection points on the board and they are both grounded. They look clean with no visible sign of shorting out. Did I screw up something or should they both be grounded?  Doesnt make sense to me but I know zero about this. HELP!!!

I am afraid that if the antenna is grounded and should not be, that I will fry the board. I have another solution. I replaced my drone so I now have another transmitter. I will disassemble the new one and check to see if it is grounded. If it is I will go ahead with the mod. If not grounded the the old one will go into the parts bin.

Did you test the new one? Mine seems to be grounded as well and working fine, not sure if its an issue or not.
