Summer fun
#1
We had some friends over and of course their kids got introduced to drones. They donned goggles for the ride along (oohs, aahs, and giggles) and had a go flying some brushed whoops, but being kids they found their own way to have fun with drones.

Nice thing with having the Walksnail 1S on micros is you always have some decent quality onboard footage in a sub 10g package. Video is a little dizzying, but still fun.

No drones were harmed in the making of this video... well not seriously anyways

That's great, they really had it out for you! What did you get knocked out at the end with there?

I think it was the nerf football, it was in his hands just before the drone went down and gone a few frames later. He was teasing the drone with it, but I didn't think he'd actually throw it... or that he'd actually hit the drone...

? that's perfect. Honestly, arming kids with nerf balls to throw at drones is a pretty safe way for them to get to interact with them and isn't too deadly to a whoop. Will keep it in mind for the future!

If by safe you mean like an elephant rolling over a bicycle (that was a 50g toothpick vs a hefty nerf football) Tongue
I surely didn't arm them and wouldn't recommend arming kids with heavy items to launch at the drones, twigs and sticks are fine though. It was all very spontaneous, they just decided it was a good idea to chase and take out the drown after I was in the air, maybe the drone edged them on just a little... got to turn down the AI settings.

Nice property, cute kids, smooth flying, great video!

What are the specs on the quad? I might want to build one.

Thanks, the kids were just rented for the video... ok they were visiting, otherwise I don't think my drones would survive Smile
That is definitely my favorite cruiser setup - long flight times, easy to carry around, smooth agile handling, not great in winds though. If I had to keep only one quad that might be the one, but fortunately we don't have to make such decisions.

HX115LR toothpick frame
1202.5 6000kv motors with 3" Gemfan bi-blades

Walksnail 1S Lite VTX

Build thread here (actually it was my first Avatar build)
