Suggestions for some superhuman batteries?
#1
I have some of these:

on the way for a new build (a rather special one).

Does anyone have any good suggestions for 4S batteries, around the 1500mA/h mark that will actually withstand four of these motors with some quite large props?

As I'm in Europe, I'm looking for suggestions that I can actually buy and without breaking the bank for shipping.

I have a suspicion that what I'm building will be quite capable of wanting 120A+ if I push it hard and turning batteries into little footballs is a quite an expensive hobby! So, if anyone is running anything quite this insane and has found batteries that are actually up to it, I'm all ears! Big Grin

Personally, I think these motors are really designed for lighter props Smile
It's got the torque to swing heavy props, and it draws ridiculous high current...
On a light build, with lighter props, these motors would really shine with very responsive RPM changes and speed! Yet it won't abuse your batteries so badly...

I don't know which version you are getting, I hope it's the 2400KV? 5040x3 might be a good choice for it...

What battery have you got right now? The 120A is really just the peak static load, in real flight it could be lower though, and for a short period of time like a few seconds, that shouldn't be a problem for modern mini quad lipos..

I asked around recently, and it seems the most popular batteries are the Turnigy Graphene 65C and Tattu R-Line

I've got the 2400kv version and I'm looking at spinning some 6040 props with them. Big Grin

I have a Tattu 1550mA/h 4S 75C that I'll try first, but the Graphene batteries might be a good suggestion. Thanks!

*whooohohohooo, my man, gotta see this!! Tongue Tongue Tongue Hope you'll be posting the beast..
Going through some Lipo-greek-drama myself, orders being sent back by our lovely customs-officers, *aaarrrgghhh!!!
If they continue to do so, I'll be ordering semtex ROFL ROFL ROFL
Nah, seriously: Tattu seems a pretty good option. I don't know about the Gaoneng-Lipos (..whether they're really up to their labeling 80/160C), but you could order them over aliexpress and they DO ship if you tell them to make one parcel per battery. That's how I'm building part of my Lipo-stock - 'lil parcel-by-parcel..
Do you have any suggestions concerning my future 3-inch-build? I've fallen for the little kraken (BoltRC). *heckI'msohooked..
Patients drove me nuts today, so I cancelled my afternoon and went for some fpv with the helix. *ooooooorgaaasssmmmm!!! Apart from those weird social-case-dog-people (..the dogs minded less than their owners Poop), I managed to take her home in one piece (..I'm not talking about the propellers ROFL Whistling) and mastered barrel-rolls today!! *yippeehhh!!
I must say that I really, really, reallllllyyy DON'T like horizon-mode. It feels like my nagging ex-wife keeps pulling back my sticks (.."don't fly that fast, I told you!!") the whole time. So I dropped her, *eehhrrmm, horizon-mode. Air-mode's sooo much better, took me way less time getting used to than the horizon-driving-miss-daisy-mode..
..and I really L-O-V-E- those 6-inch-3blades, went through all sorts of 5 and 6 inch props, but it seems I'm the torquey guy, just like with motorcycles Cool (big V2's..) i like thrust a lot, but I don't like that high-pitched scream and the long throttlestick-ways..
In motorcycle-engines we called it "grunt". I like grunt. Even more so with quads..
*tigerhug and fpv-on,

I have one gaoneng gnb 1500mah 120C/240C which i purchased for testing and it is actually quite good. Shipping takes around 2-4 weeks to Norway from my experience. I bought it on aliexpress. The internal resistance is among the best i have seen compared to my other lipos (infinity 1300/1500 70c and infinity race 1300/1500)
