Strange problem with take off, hover and flip over
#1
Something is wrong with my latest zmr250 build, and I don't know how to explain it.

So I have upgraded it to naze32 FC, littlebee 20a esc and cobra 2206/2100 racing motors, still running 3s batteries at the moment.

My problem is, it will take off and hover for about 3-5 seconds and then it will start rocking and gaining momentum over the next 5 seconds and then boom flips over, I have increased and decreased the PID for my roll as that's the way it is rocking, it then moves to the pitch so I do the same adjust the PID setting for pitch and then it goes back to the roll having issues.

Anyone know why?  Huh Huh

A few things to check:

Check your motor order arrangement
Check FC is in the right orientation, set YAW offset adjustment if required
Try to use Acro mode for testing

I had this with angle mode, try taking off in acro or leveling mode and see if it keeps up, id have a look at what the level p is at and look at lowering that by half, but id keep it out of angle mode

thank you very much!
I solved it and now it's hovering fine!!
It was the Flight Controller Loop time set too low, it was set at 1000... change it to 2000 flies much better.

Hi,

Thanks for the tip about loop time - I got my previously unstable 180 to fly smooth and clean by setting loop to 2500 instead of 2000. Took the Naze32 from an older build where 2000 worked fine...

Now I just have to wait until its light outside so I can fly a bit further than the streetlight covers Rolleyes

BR,

Henrik (Sweden is cold and dark this time of the year)
