Strange motor behavior (glitch)
#1
Hi everyone,

I'm a multirotors enthusiast and I've been following Oscar blog for the last few months, it was there that I found this forum.
I'm having a strange behavior in my recent build and I would like to know your opinion on the the problem.
I’ve tried different firmwares (cleanflight and betaflight) but I got always the same motor glitching. Currently I’m using cleanflight with default configuration, please check this video for you to see what am I talking about (with sound is better).

My setup:
Emax nighthawk 200
Emax MT2205
LittleBee 20A ESC
Skyline32 FC
Latest Cleanflight firmware

I did a web search but can't find anything similar anywhere...

Today I've noticed two things:
   - the problem is less noticeable if using bullnose propellers!
   - changing the PWM frequency to LOW in BlHeli suite seems to solve the issue.

Do you ever experienced something similar to this?
Thank you in advance Smile

it doesn't do it all the time, so you can pretty much rule out the motors or ESC i think

my guess it's the radio? do you have blackbox on that quad you can record some flight data?

if not check your RC channels in receiver tab, make sure they are not jumping around.

Hi,

I don't have blackbox. I can't check RC channels because this issue hapens during flight.
Today I've changed the ESCs configuration searching for a solution. Changing the PWM frequency to LOW apparently solves the issue. I don't know why and don't know if it makes sense but it is not happening this way. I need good weather to test it better.

Hi,

I don't have que quad with me at the moment but I can say that the settings (in the video) are Littlebee default.

Demag compensation Low
PWM frequency High
Enable PWM input OFF
Motor timing Medium

After trying almost everything I'm convinced that a have a problematic FC. Going to order a new one and try...
