Anybody order from SpeedyFPV.com?

Just wondering if they're one of those too-good-to-be-true places, where like everything is in stock ...

Thanks

Looking at the site, it's seems legit but just look at the stuff they are selling. A lot of it looks to be low end or out-of-date stuff that is a good 2-3 years old. They list their address as Texas, but it's just a PO Box which might ring some alarm bells. It could just be a front / proxy / drop-ship store for Chinese gear where you place an order and they then order direct from China just like you could have done yourself at a lower price.

If you found something you are interested in and are thinking of taking a chance, make sure to pay by credit card so you are covered by any credit consumer laws in your country which will usually get you your money back if you end up being the victim of a scam.

From a trust score perspective, this is all I could really find -> https://www.scamdoc.com/view/973270

Thanks Snow!

Yeah I placed a low risk “test” order - a HappyModel ELRS Rx for $15.99 plus $1.96 (?) shipping. So we’ll see. They have an EBay store too where I saw the Rx. The same Rx doesn’t show up on the website unless you type in the search then it appears.

I would have ordered more, but was a little hesitant.

Thanks for the info Smile

OK, so it's a legit site. It never hurts to be wary though. There are sadly far too many scammers in this world. I still advise using a credit card (not debit card) though for any future purchases.

Definitely- I use PayPay with a CC, not a bank account. Had to dispute a handful over the years too.

Be aware that using a CC with PayPal doesn't give you double protection. In that case you lose the CC protection and can only rely on the PayPal protection. That is because PayPal is acting as a broker for the transaction so as far as the CC company is concerned, providing PayPal with the required finds has fulfilled their part of the transaction and they aren't liable for anything that happens with that money further downstream in the chain. A lot of people incorrectly assume that using a CC card in conjunction with PayPal gives them the ability of falling back to the CC protection if PayPal refuses a dispute, which is not true.

CC protection generally gives you much better protection than PayPal, so if you are paying for high value items and have the option to use a CC direct on the vendors site, always use that option over PayPal every time.
