SPC 95X and SPC 90S
#1
2 great looking Brushless Micro's new to arrive in 2017 from SPC Maker, just last month
the SPC 90S - Available to purchase here - https://goo.gl/Uy2gxt

Now just 6 weeks later, they are back with what is looking like like a terrific addition to their small, but fast growing fleet...

This is the (only very slightly) bigger brother to the 90S, the SPC 95X -

Purchase the SPC 95X here - https://goo.gl/Aj4bgm

These 2 are very similar on paper... Up to a point... Wink

Both come with an FC that is 2-4s capable, the OSD Omnibus F3 6DOF FC, pre-flashed with BetaFlight 3.1.0 Omnibus, but which also supports CleanFlight. The boards have an integrated OSD (On-Screen Display) and a regulated 5v 1A BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit.) The mini 4-in-1 ESC from BLHeli_S can cope with up to 4s LiHv (15.2v) batteries, but I doubt there are many 11mm brushless motors that would appreciate that high a voltage, not yet anyway..!

          <- 90S & 95X ->

While we're on the subject, both the 90S and 95X have the same 1104 7500kV, SPC Maker branded, brushless motors which swing 5 bladed (90S) or 4 bladed (95X) 50mm props. Both are advertised on the manufacturers Facebook page with receiver options to suit almost anyone with DSMX/DSM2, FrSky, FlySky and Futaba protocols. Note that the FlySky option uses the newer AFHDS 2A protocol so won't be compatible with an older model FlySky or 'clone' TX, and for some reason isn't yet shown as an option on BangGood, I have asked though so keep your eye on their comments...

      <- 2mm base plate & 1.5mm top plate vs. 3mm base and 2mm top plate? ->

SPC Maker haven't confirmed the details of the CF used by the 95X yet, but the 90S has a 1.5mm top plate and 2mm 3K weave full Carbon Fiber chassis, looking closely at the pictures makes me wonder if the chassis of the 95X hasn't had its CF upgraded to 3mm as well(?) what would they do that for, if they didn't think it was more likely to break..?  Wink

The FPV camera is another of the 600TVL 1/4" CMOS variety that are featuring all over the place at the moment, the quality of these is said to vary though so lets hope SPC Maker have used a decent quality one. The same can be said for the 48 channel 25mW VTX, some people can get as much as 150 - 200m in open air with some of these, others only get 50m or less, but with the VTX there are so many places for noise or interference to get into the signal.

The 95X also has a buzzer and LED board which didn't make an appearance on the 90S, possibly because they see 'Big Boy' as more likely to get lost, I wonder why...?  Wink

So we are done with 'the sames' and 'the similars,' now on to the differences.
Besides the obvious 5mm difference in the motor to motor chassis size and the LED & buzzer board I have already mentioned, the 90S is slightly lighter (another reason for my 3mm CF speculation) with a 'dry weight' of 56g and with its 7.4v 500mAh weighs in at 86g 'all up'
The bigger 95X is 63g dry and has an AUW (All Up Weight) of 96g.

Some of you proficient in taking hints might have realised that I was leading up to something, and those of you proficient in math will have noticed that the battery weight of the 95X is 33g compared to the 30g battery of the 90S...
And there is a very good reason for this... The SPC 95X has an extra cell in its battery pack!

The 90S is no slouch with the pair of 2 cell 500mAh batteries provided, but the single 11.1v 350mAh battery that comes stock with the 95X has a whopping discharge rate of 80C. The specs for the 90S didn't provide a discharge rate but I doubt its anywhere near as high as 80C! C ratings can be misleading especially from lesser known battery manufacturers but despite this, with 11.1 volts I am sure that the 95X will be hitting speeds that will make the guy wearing the goggles feel like he is in charge of a remote guided missile!

Now you understand why the addition of buzzer, LED's and maybe thicker carbon may be a necessity?!  Wink
