SP Racing F3 - CPU Status %100
#1
Question
so i've been experiencing this really annoying problem with my new set up. it has all the characteristics of being a esc desync issue, or a bad esc. so i pulled all the heatshrink off the esc's and found that one of them had some caps that came loose. so i switched it. and still same problem. so lets try some different settings in blheli first. start up power, nope that didn't fix it. demag? nope. motor timing? guess again. so maybe it's something in betaflight. so i was running Multishot, at 4k/4k. all my sensors off. and when i checked the status in the CLI, it said my cpu was at 100. really? why would it even arm? so i switched my looptimes to 4k/2k and my cpu is at %17. i'm no expert but should it change by that much?

I had similar problems on my XRacer! I was running 4k/4k with Multishot. CPU usage was 100% and wouldn't arm. After tinkering and changing settings I found that Luxfloat consumed a lot of CPU usage(quite obvious, floating point calculations) than Rewrite. Even after I switched to Rewrite had the problem few times(Copter wouldn't arm). Then I gave up on it switched back to trusty ONESHOT125 running at 2.6k/2.6k. Flies good now!

Have you turned off ACC, Mag and baro? Also using other features would consume CPU too like soft serial and LED

yes I've disabled all my sensors, and the only feature I'm using soft serial. I've switched it to 4K/4K with OS125 and all is fine now.

I'm no expert but soft serial can certainly impact CPU quite badly, especially if you're using it for something like telemetry. Have you tried disabling it?

no I haven't, but by disabling all my sensors and running 2K/2K I was able to bring it down to 14%.
