That is a perfect multi-purpose tool that should be on the Workbench Necessities list!

Now... which filament should be used while chilled to about 8 degrees Celsius? That is a perfect temp for a beer bottle Wink

EDIT: ah sorry... beer fridge is already on the list Big Grin

That's a brilliant idea Oscar!

I don't worry so much about PLA filament, but I've just got a new printer and hot end that is capable of printing nylon. Although the humidity here in Sweden is normally so low in the winter that the skin on your fingers starts to crack, once nylon has absorbed water, drying it out is tricky.

There's even a local distributor of the Polybox here in Sweden.

Looks like you just cost me money (again)! Big Grin

Just great! I've got a spool of PETG in there at the moment and a spool of Taulman Bridge nylon arriving tomorrow.

I like the idea, but think it would have been better designed to have the filament feed through a hole in the black base rather than the top lid/cover. It might make changing rolls simpler.

Drilling a couple of holes in the black base is something I'm seriously thinking about.

For PLA, it's probably overkill.

For PETG, it will improve surface finish if the filament is kept dry.

For nylon, keeping the filament dry is the only way to get good prints!

Nylon sucks up water from the air like a sponge. Having your spool of nylon sitting out in the open air while you are printing with it is the same as not storing it in a airtight container with desiccant. Even just four days exposure to humidity will ruin most nylon filament.

This little box is the perfect solution!

I've just finished upgrading my new printer with a genuine E3D v6 hot end, so I'm now ready to start printing nylon.
It's the ultimate filament for quad frames and parts.
