I should also mention I use thumbs. I think people that pinch can use higher rates. If it's a smaller 5inch frame like 190mm and very light, you can use lower rates too since it's so nimble.

That's the one that I am considering having be the "race quad" after this past weekend. Now that I can make it through a UTT course with it, the goal is to learn how to do that more quickly... It'll also help break up the time spent at the park between freestyle flights which are starting to become a little bland at my big empty field location x.x There is only so creative that I can get with doing barrel roles and flips in the middle of the air lol... carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 20-Jun-2017, 08:15 PM It really comes down to preference. I'd say as long as you're not doing 1200 + degrees per second, that's probably pretty good for racing. And for sure gates and flags are so much fun. I also like the social aspect of getting people together for a race. If I can start over again... I would make 3 machines that are exactly the same for racing. I pretty much bailed on the last 3 races because my main quad broke and I just couldn't adjust fast enough between heats to my other machines. 21-Jun-2017, 02:37 AM Sounds like very good advice to me! Even my freestyle build is under 1200 (a little), and I have lots of control on it. Or at least as much control as someone with about a half-year of experience could be expected to have :p If I stick with the diatone for racing I can grab 2 more... Although they've already made some changes to them since my purchase it seems so they wouldn't be exactly the same... I'll probably hold out though, I really do want to do this second freestyle build in July. Current budget is around 350 so to stack an extra 520 on that would be me spending too much money for my own good again lol... Sheesh... I need a raise to support this habit. Whats really bad about that statement is I make decent money! I am not rich but I used to feel like I could blow cash without thinking about it... now with this hobby I know that if I don't have some self control then my net balances will start to decrease in my accounts lol. carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 |
