Skyline 32 advanced 1.1 issue
#1
Hi Everyone,

I have a very interesting issue which I can't solve.
In my quad I have a Skyline 32 Advanced version 1.1 flight controller with cleanflight and a micro minim osd. Set it up everything and the OSD works fine picking up all the data. But the issue is from my radio not picking up the inputs except the AUX which I can see it works on my OSD. No throttle, yaw, pitch or roll. When I add a battery when in Cleanflight it says loading but nothing happens. Now I lost :-\
Any idea?

Sounds like you have the wrong channel ordering set in Cleanflight.

Thanks I checked it already.

So I unpluged the osd from the RT Port on flught board then everything works. When I plugged back the osd to RT and connecting only the USB to board my receiver lights up too. When add the battery only the last 4 channel works on receiver.

Can you show us how you are connecting everything? I don't know what the "RT" port is.

Also, what receiver are you using?

I'm using a FrSky V8FR-II HV receiver.
The RT is the serial connector for OSD according to the manual.

Here is how I connected everything:

OK, that's a good start.

Where is the receiver connected?

Connected to the RC_IN. If I unplug the osd from the RT then all 8ch works fine. If plug it back the first 4 channel is gone.

Also, about that "RT" connector.

The connector is wired to UART1 and that UART is also connected to the CP2102 chip that goes to the USB socket. So, if you just connect USB and no power, you will be able to connect via the configurator. If you plug in your battery, the OSD will get power and you can no longer connect via USB unless you disconnect the OSD.

OK, it's an old fashioned PWM receiver.

I don't see how your first four channels would stop working just because you plugged in the OSD. If you have enabled the PWM receiver option, then the RC_IN connector pins are GND, +5V and channels 1-8.
If you enable any other receiver option or try turning on things like the GPS option then the RC_IN pins change their functions.

Not enabled anything. Might be my receiver is not compatible with this setup or the flight controller is faulty. Will try a different receiver first and will see if that is the problem.
Till that time I will fly without OSD Sad

Anyway, thanks for your help unseen.

I wish I could do more and get you flying!

I can understand that plugging in the OSD would stop you from being able to connect to the configurator but I just don't understand how it could have any effect on the first four channels from your receiver.

If the receiver works when the OSD isn't connected, then there's nothing wrong with either the receiver or your flight controller.

Which version of Cleanflight are you running? Maybe going back to an earlier version like 1.13, which is known to work with this board would solve the problem. Using a different receiver that has PPM output and only needs one wire to the flight controller would also make UART2 available to you on the RC_IN connector and you could then connect your OSD to UART2 instead and be able to connect to the configurator without unplugging the OSD.

SOLVED IT!!! Big Grin

It was the NAZE firmware. They just released the latest version 2.0.2 today and it had a fix for this kind of issue.
Finally now it is working Smile

Again thank you for all the help unseen. Thumbs Up
