SKY Kylin F3 - unable to enter DFU mode
#1
Hi,

I have recently purchased http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-SKYkylin...00694.html
and having issue with entering DFU mode.

Board comes with Betaflight 2.x but I wanted to upgrade to Betaflight 3.x due to issues with motor spining full speed after plugging in battery.
Sadly Windows nor Mac doesn't detect DFU mode (STM32 BOOTLOADER)
Apparently board is using CP2104 usb to UART bridge but already installed newest drivers with no joy Sad

Has anyone come across the issue with DFU mode.. or the issue with motors spinning full speed ?

Motor spinning full speed upon power on is normally due to motor_pwm_rate not set correctly
Have a look at this FAQ #1: http://intofpv.com/t-faq-for-brushed-mot...betaflight

Hi Oscar,

I have tried already to set up pwm_rate to different values. I tried 100, 400, 4000, 32000.
The result was the same. Thanks for the input anyway Smile

Btw. In all above... save was done Wink

You might check to see if they set arming defaults on a switch that you have set, and then check throttle endpoints. I had that happen with a BeeCore FC.

Thanks for answer. First thing I do on new FC is to change switches configuration (arming and angle mode)
Did you have that in mind or something else?

No, that's what I meant.  First thing I do is bind. Big Grin I just recently plugged a battery in to a Beecore I had mounted on a E010 - to bind it to my Tx.  As soon as it bound, the motors fired up.  Tracked it down to default switch setting, plus not having my throttle endpoints low enough on my transmitter.  Good luck finding your gremlin...

Also, did you enable motor_stop.... that one has thrown me for a loop lately on brushed boards.
doesn't seem necessary, but it's worked on two different boards that would spin on battery connection even though motor pwm rate was properly set etc...

Doesn't even interfere with airmode .....

I always have issues with DFU mode on these things... usually end up changing settings like baud rate and plugging / re plugging / mix and repeat .... success at some random point. I usually just set "flash on connect" and cycle through gazillion times.
