Hello people,

I see on youtube a lot of movies from people who tune the pid loops for one axis. They then take the opposite props of the quadcopter and going to tune. Put can you also do this for a X Quadcopter or is this only possible for a + Quadcopter?

Do no one have any experience in this kind of tuning?
I like this easy way to get the right PID settings for your quadcopter.
After you have done this you can do a test flight to see if everything is working correctly together.

I've seen these videos. I think it would be impossible to use a test like this on an X-configuration. It works well for +-configuration, because only 2 motors control pitch, and only 2 control roll. (all are involved in yaw of course). On x-configured quads, each motor contributes to both pitch and roll. Even if you could rig a test-stand, if you make a change in tune for roll, then you've changed something for pitch because each motor is involved in both pitch and roll.
(That's my unscientific take on it anyway.)

It makes really sense now your explaining it and indeed it's probably not good possible to adjust it very good with only one axis if you have an X-configuration. Maybe try it sometime if i have my quad good flying and see if it indeed is working or not.
