Simple Lumenier QAV Build
#1
I've been wanting to try an AIO FC/ESC/OSD for a while and with everyone doing super complicated builds and super lightweight builds, I thought I'd do a super simple build with a clean look and a minimum of parts.

I'm using my favorite frame  the Lumenier QAV-XS, so even though there's a minimum of parts, it won't be a lightweight as the Lumi's got a fair bit of heft to it at 91 grams. Beautiful frame though with high-quality hardware and chamfered edges. The only downfall to this frame is that I really wanted to use the Runcam Split but it simply will not fit. Period. (No problem, just gives me an excuse for another build).

Any how, parts are as follow:

Lumenier QAV-Stretch X 220mm frame
Brother Hobby R4 Returner 2206 2450 motors
Lumenier Asgard V3 AIO FC
Radiolink R6DS RX
IRC Tramp HV VTX
TBS Triumph Stubby VTX antenna
Runcam Swift 2 FPV Camera
RMRC Strix 5 X 4.5X 3 props
R-Line 4S 1300mah 95C lipos

In order to have the Asgard mounted how I wanted it, I had to invert it and rotate it 90 degrees. This required setting board config to 180 degrees pitch and 90 degrees yaw, and trading motors 2 & 3 in resource remapping.  Pretty cool stuff, Betaflight continues to amaze me

The resource remapping features of Betaflight are really useful. I did exactly the same thing to use my Star F4 AIO and put the motor connections where I wanted them to be.

I certainly hope the R4 motors perform better than they look, they're butt-ugly haha. It's Saturday, hope to get them wired up today, get the receiver connected and play around in Betaflight a bit

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the BrotherHobby motors, even if you haven't fallen in love with the green and pink colour scheme. Smile

The larger bearings and stronger shaft should make them more crash resistant and the 0.15mm laminations and N52H arc magnets with a tiny air gap to the stator should give loads of power.

It's been a tough few days, contracted the flu.  But getting back to normal and have the BH motors installed with soft mounts and wired up.  The R6DS is a little crooked as it's not fastened as I haven't decided where I want it mounted.  It fits nicely between the front standoffs but that leaves it exposed and it also interferes slightly with the USB port.  May just mount it on top of the Asgard.

Camera and vtx are mounted on the top plate.  I'm using the micro connector going to the FC instead of soldering directly onto the board, it'll be more convenient to remove the top plate

Pretty much done, may fiddle with the placement of the buzzer and haven't decided what I'm going to do with the antenna yet.  Just had out in the backyard for a bit and with basically default Betaflight 3.2.4 (just notch and d-term filters disabled, PT1 with dynamic filters and a bit of expo) and it's super smooth and responsive.
