Should I get rid of my Turnigy 9X ? Can't get either of my quad to respond

It would have been a good excuse to get a new TX. Wiring is so much cleaner. I guess you can get a PPM RX and clean up wiring the same way. If this was me, I probably would have order a new TX already.

I know ! My mistake was to focus on the wizard only which didn't come with sufficient wiring, I guess I need to get/make one of these now :

I am correct to say it's a 8 pin JST-SH ?

I don't know, but I do know that it doesn't look like  fun.

If the pitch between the pins is 1mm then it is a JST-SH. If the pitch is 1.25mm then it's a Molex Picoblade.

Right after a month my cable finally arrived ! In the meantime following your previous messages I did manage to configure/fly/crash my HK/diatone with this unconventionnal channel mapping : ATE4123R

However for the wizard, I do manage now to read my 4 main channel under BF after much trial and error with a different mapping depending which side of the FC I plug my cable in : AE21TR34 (right) and 21AE34TR (left)

I can't seem however to be able to get my aux channels to work, therefore so far I can't arm or config my failsafe.

I copied on the 9X the config I used for the diatone, my aux channel are assigned but nothing in BF  Huh

Also another odd thing with the wizard : might be a crappy cable but sometimes the receiver page doesn't react even everything is plugged in correctly, I have to disconnect the receiver cable from the FC and plug it again for it to work

Starting to consider replacing my turnigy by this guy if I get stuck more as at least it seems to bind well with many pre-tuned micro/mini quad or to replace the module for a FrSky one

FRSky RX's will not work with the radio you link to. Only RX's with FlySky protocols will work. If you are considering FRSky, then looking at the Taranis Q7x is likely a better option. It works with all of the FRSky RX as far as I know, but it is about double the price of the FlySky.

I started with a FlySky i6 and was happy with it for function, but it did not feel comfortable in my hands That radio was gifted to my daughter and she uses it very well. I had a chance to hold the Taranis 9x and it was not comfortable either. At a local shop, they had the Q7 and as soon as it was in hand, I just knew that it was the one. If you can, hold a few of the radios to see what fits you best.

OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun!  Addicted :)

I was thinking of replacing the whole module on my 9X with a FrSky one as per Oscar's article, the Q7 seems like a nice upgrade but still twice the cost and I'm quite on a budget at the moment, also I am quite happy with the ergonomics of the my current transmitter, just wish setting it up was easier  Cry
