Setting up motor mix for HK450 dead cat.
#1
I've had the dead cat for some time, and decided  to upgrade from the KK2.1.5 to an extra SP Racing F3 I had. I'm new to all of this, so have only the barest idea of what I'm doing. Once installed, I connected the FC to cleanflight and proceeded to setup everything. Since cleanflight doesnt (yet?) have a config for dead cat, I used a custom mix from the CLI. To calculate the values, I used 3 different methods. One methods was to calculate the values based on the distances between the motors and CG for each axis. THe second method was the trig method using the angles of the motors from the CG of each axis. THe third method was to use the online tool here. All three methods produced similar enough results I moved forward with the ones calculated using trig. Once saved, I tried to take off. At this point the quad pitched forward before truly lifting off. I then tried the other two sets of values I had, same result. I then thought maybe the rear motors had too much throttle authority, so I reduced throttle for those motors to .80 in the mixer. It now doesnt pitch forward, but it does roll right, quite enthusiastically! I should note here that I had already checked to ensure that each motor was turning in the correct direction, and that the correct props were mounted.

Any suggestions what to do/try next? I'm at a loss.
Configuration:
Frame: HK450, dead cat
FC: SP Racing F3
FC is turned 90 clockwise, and I set the yaw adjustment in cleanflight to compensate.

These are the most recent commands I've used (also tried with throttle for motors 0 and 2 set to .8):
mixer custom
mmix reset
mmix 0 1 -0.765 0.632 -1
mmix 1 1 -1 -0.632 1
mmix 2 1 0.765 0.632 1
mmix 3 1 1 -0.632 -1

Did you set the Board and Sensor alignment appropriately in the Configuration tab?

Have u tried just using the default mix in cleanflight?

Yeah, I tried that first, but it did a power flip at takeoff that darn near broke the props.

I "think" I did (set it for 90 deg rotation). But I'm going to try 270 instead since I'm a little confused on the direction of rotation as referenced by cleanflight. I thought it should be 90 based on how I rotated the FC.

Well, waddaya know! Changed it from 90 to 270, that simple! Now I just gotta figure out how to get rid of the horrible wobble with 10" props. 8" work perfect. I'm assuming this will involve digging into the PID settings. Yay! (no really, I love learning all this stuff).
