secure arm procedure?
#1
today i've had a surprise, my kid standing with the TX and stating "dad... it doesn't fly" (3 years old)
he was standing next to my nox5... (no battery attached... yet)

i was laughing that ... "good that he don't know how to turn on the radio"
"beep beep" radio turned on...

... good that battery is not near the quads... but that might be solved by him soon ... as the 2 piece puzzle might not be too hard..

so my thinking is ... until now i had "arm" on switch... have any of you thought about having a sequence to arm ? ie sw 1 pos 2/3 and second one to pos 3/3 then and only then pass the arm signal ?

Some program a momentary switch, which then has to be held too, to allow the real arm switch to work.
You could also use a simple mix switch to mix throttle above min_check, which would prevent arming.

But i think the simplest & safest would be, to keep the batteries in a safe place he can't reach in the first place.
They're the most dangerous part anyway...

LOL... with a little bit of switch logic you can do that I believe Smile Switch C on and off twice, Switch G on, Switch A off... and Arm! LOL

but seriously... put your gear high enough your kid won't reach it Smile might be the best solution!

you can always:
- put raceflight on all boards (double arm) - he will solve this quick by simple trial and error
- put custom FW on i6 - there are some combinations on switches ie turning 2 and 3-pos to one 6-pos + double arm - let's say its enough for 2 weeks
- hang your quads under the ceiling
- buy an electronic safe

or

- give me all your batteries. I will keep them for you ;p

Batteries are by default out of the reach, it was a funny moment to see "it doesn't fly" and a moment later radio being turned on.

also... flysky radios are easy to operate... 3years old without experience managed it... so everyone will Smile

ill play with mixing the switches... just to make it a bit more secure (also for me, as i've already 2 times armed my quad by my shoulder)

@Konrad you already have one of mines Tongue
