I put them in the correct container for electrical rubbish when I dispose of my trash and they get taken away and recycled.

Everyone in Sweden has access to proper waste management.

Well, I'll throw outdated mobile phones and I'll throw computer hardware that's way past prime time or hardware that's actually been blown up, but I keep a couple of old computers in reserve as they're still perfectly capable of running as file servers or web servers once you put a good Linux distribution on them.

I wouldn't throw out a perfectly functional flight controller just because it's not the latest and greatest though. Or older motors and ESCs. As long as they work, they can always be used in a scratch build as an experiment or mated with a cheap frame to make a first quad for a friend who wants to get started in the hobby.

The CC3D is a perfect example. It's actually a very capable little flight controller with a good gyro that's connected to the processor over SPI. Older versions of Cleanflight, Betaflight etc can still be downloaded and will still run a CC3D very well.

It will probably take a year or 2 till I have enough out dated stuff, but for sure I will be offering back to this amazing community with a giveaway (it's gonna have to be quite a big one to make the international shipping charges worth it!). Oscar's last giveaway made it possible for me to start building and gain some experience with tiny soldering and some of the complexities of hardware compatibility, no an ST-link doesn't work for everything!

Thanks again Oscar, I don't know if you understand just how helpful it was for me as a noob, to receive the brushed micro stuff from your giveaway, it also made me a dedicated member of the forum and inspired me to offer my limited help (still a noob!) in any way I can.

Big Love for IntoFPV

Im still beginning so any extra parts get placed in a tote waiting for my next build Wink. Ive even been saving chopped antennas that are too short for my current build but still enough length to salvage/repair and use on a smaller build or one where my antennas dont route as much through the frame.

yeppers....then there is the stuff that can be fixed, BUT WILL IT, all of a sudden a buy of antennas, only to realize among all the old and extra stuff there were those antennas that WERE gonna get fixed...which in turn puts reality on how much I just spent in the last month on stuff..

a guy asked today what it took to get into this stuff....i was flying at the time and chuckled, but my son started to say, and i interrupted, "best off gettin a heroin addiction..at least then theres a reason to STOP, and NOT be spending every extra penny you have on it"....AND every waking moment thinkin about it..after i got done..i looked at his women, dont let him do it, youll never see him again...lol,

I have sand rails and quads, dirtbikes, im a sand dune junky since birth......i havent even thought about trip to the dunes this summer, yet...LMFAO....and i dont even care[Image: cool.png]

lol, in a box...prolly more like a shed, you prolly get ALOT of free stuff...so great to give back to the fpv community, if i could afford to buy stuff and give it away that would be great...im not lucky enough to be swamped with things to test...but im not opposed to quiting my day job and going 100% fpv/quadcopter route.. testing, flying, building, and no more concrete construction...my back feels better already...

but let me know bout a give away i might have some thing to throw in to your pot..

That would make an excellent quad, no mistake.

Latest is not necessarily greatest!

I keep everything hobby related - reasonably well sorted - I tend to cut leads so that I can reuse the wire or the wire and connectors for future builds or rebuilds.

I buy 5 or 10 packs of common stuff and keep the spares. A friend is just starting out in the hobby and he's a bit cash poor so I give him parts like the XT60 battery leads, terminals, LEDs etc that I've bought in bulk. Saves him a few $$$ which he can then spend on the important parts.

Unlike other hobbies generally the excess bits from multirotors are pretty small and can be easily managed into organised storage. I bin (or appropriately recycle) dead hardware.

I really like the way people on this forum in particular are willing to pay it forward with their older/spares....
