Running 5045/5040 Triblades with 2600KV motor
#1
Anyone running DAL T5045 with a 2600kv motor? Whats the current draw in flight? (max) Looking for both T5045 and T5040 J style prop current draw.

I know the 5040 pull around 60 amps, can burst to 80a if you hit a hard punch out. I never looked at the amp draw of the 5045s but they felt less responsive. I think its just too heavy of a prop.

My go to prop on 2300 or 2600 KV is the GF BN 5045x3. Feels pretty amazing on the rs2205 2600kv. Can't tell you the amp draw but it's high. My HV 1300 Bonkas are maybe coming down at 120 degrees F and the older packs come down nice and puffed. Flight time is anywhere from 1 - 2 minutes.

I have one 5 inch quad with 2205 2633 motors running DAL 5040 triples and on big punch outs pulling over 80 amps, this setup does suck the lipos, but ohhh such fun and bloody fast.

With 5045 BN the amp draw is even higher and thus why I also run 30 amp esc's, for extra overhead.

My experience is that 5045 tri normally is a bit too much for the high kv motors, but there is probably new high kv motors out there that can run them. But the dinogy battery will probably suffer. I personally would go for a 5040 tri instead
